An American court has issued summons to the Indian government on Tuesday in connection with the conspiracy to murder Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. The names of Indian NSA Ajit Doval, former RAW chief Samant Goyal, RAW agent Vikram Yadav and industrialist Nikhil Gupta are also included in these summons.
The American court has asked to respond to these summons within 21 days. Pannu had filed a case in the US District Court regarding conspiracy to murder him. Last year, America had alleged that there was a plot to carry out a fatal attack on Pannu in New York. India had a hand in this. This conspiracy was foiled.
In response to the summons, the Foreign Ministry had said during the press conference on Thursday that this summons is completely false. Foreign Secretary Vikram Mistry had said that when this matter came to our notice, we took action. A high level committee has also been formed in this matter.
The US government had sought answers in June
On June 26, America had sought responsibility from India in the case of attempt to murder against Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. US Government's Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell had said that we have raised this issue directly with the Indian government. A report was also sought from the inquiry committee.
In Kikat, Indian citizen Nikhil Gupta was arrested by the Czech Republic police on June 30, 2023 for plotting the murder of Pannu. Nikhil was extradited to America on June 14, 2024.
